During that last semester at the institution, friend and I decided to set up a date for a mini-shoot. We wanted to do something kind of vintage, something simple, yet nice. So, I packed up my tote, got on the public transpo and headed out.

Studying My Way...Kind Of
Since I was no longer studying at the institution I started at, I decided to take a correspondence course. Its something I always thought about since that first digital photography class I took as an elective when I started college. I never was able to do it but, as of November 2011, I decided that 2012 was going to be my year one way or another. 2012 started and I kept going with that same thought. It finally led me to take the first step and sign up for the course. Do I like it? Well, it seems interesting so far. Unfortunately, like every other class or course, it starts off with the basics. Something I think I have mentioned before I don't do well with.

Replica Shoot
I'd like to share a photo of one of the assignments we had in our photography class. It was a replica shoot. We had to choose a photograph from a magazine or website and try to replicate it. It didn't have to be exact. It was mostly a lighting assignment: find out where the light was coming from and what kind of lighting was used. We had a choice of either shooting in the studio or in our classroom. Although I knew EXACTLY what photographer I wanted to choose from (Mike Ruiz, you know, to make things harder for myself, remember?) I wasn't sure if I SHOULD shoot in the studio (which, btw, have I mentioned it's actually a TV studio?) or in the classroom. When I was going to say I thought I could use the classroom, the studio tech saw my photo and signaled me to shoot in the studio, so I immediately yelled out studio. I had to THEN, find a model. I sort of had one in mind already.

Been A Long Time...
"So, I guess the photography obsession is over?" Not for a minute. I just had a "few" obstacles. As for school, I had to stop going. It got to a point where there was a mix-up that I didn't know about until it was too late to do anything about it. It caused me to have to pay for school and I just couldn't afford it, so I had to drop out. =o(

GOT THE STUDIO!!!
After 5 conversations I was able to reserve the studio. Guess what? The time slot I was able to reserve it for? Time slot that appears as my lab time on my class program. {sigh} I don't know why things get so difficult, really. It's like they have no clue how to work things sometmes. It just reminded me of the last time I was a student there.
